For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? ~ Mark 8:36
Time Is Growing Short
The moment Jesus raptures His believers WILL happen before this generation exits this planet. Israel was made a nation again in one day on May 14, 1948 (Ezekiel 36 & 37); and Jesus Himself said that that is the generation that will not pass away before He comes again (Matthew 24:34). And then the Tribulation will begin. Those seven years of the Tribulation will be, quite literally, the last chance for everyone who is left here to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. But the test will have grown infinitely harder.
The time before Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ returns for His believers is growing shorter. Much shorter.
If you are a believer, then now is not the time to have unconfessed and unrepented sin in your life. Christians must keep our lives in line with the stated will of God. We must keep our accounts "short" — which means that we must acknowledge our sin, confess it as sin and then repent from our sin by not doing it anymore. Rebellion is not an option. Iniquity — which is sinning and knowing we are sinning and doing it anyway — is not an option.
If you are not yet a believer, then you need to know that God meant EVERYTHING He said in His Word. He will not be changing His mind — EVER! God is Holy. He HATES sin. God is not now — nor has He ever been — "tolerant." In fact, He is so intolerant that His ONLY Son had to die for us upon the cross in order to give us eternal life with Him.
The first time Jesus came, He came as God's Perfect Lamb, as the Once-And-For-All Sacrifice that atones for all of our sins for all time. JESUS WILL SOON BE COMING BACK and when He does He will come as The Lion of Judah. In His first coming, He came as our Redeemer. When He returns, He will come as our King. He will come to judge and to rule.
Heaven is a real place and Hell is a real place. God dwells in Heaven and the ONE and ONLY way to the Father is through belief in His Son and the sacrifice that He made to make us holy and acceptable to the Father.
We are ALL immortal beings who will be spending eternity in either Heaven or Hell, depending upon which choice we make here and now. Eternity and the choice we have made up to the moment of our separation from our earthly bodies lasts FOREVER.
God wants you to know Him
Do you ever feel a need for love, hope and security? For a sense that God is working around you and perhaps even through you? That is because, since the beginning, God has had a plan to encourage us to come to know Him better. God's plan was the sending of His Only Begotten Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, to die for us upon the Cross.
God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. ~ Romans 5:8
And Jesus said unto him, "This day is salvation come to this house . . . For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost." ~ Luke 19:9&10
And they that know Thy name will put their trust in Thee: for Thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek Thee. ~ Psalm 9:10
God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. ~ 2 Corinthians 5:19
God offers forgiveness and eternal life with Him
God sent His Son our Savior Jesus Christ to pay the penalty for Sin for all of us for all time. It is Jesus' Sacrifice that makes us acceptable to God and thereby allows us to come into His Presence.
It is up to each of us to accept this great gift that He offers to us, this priceless gift of salvation. When we do, He promises us everlasting life with Him for eternity.
"I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die." ~ John 11:25-26
"I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." ~ John 10:10
God does not promise an easier life (see Why Do Christians Have Trails?), but He does promise a more fulfilling life. And He promises a life of peace--a life of peace with God--for once we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior we are at peace with God and being at peace with our Maker gives us each a deep and abiding sense of strength and purpose no matter what our circumstances might be.
"In Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world." ~ John 16:33
The Way to Salvation
If you have not yet accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior then now is the time to do so. God has already done all the work. His yoke is easy and His burden light. ~ Matthew 11:30
- Admit you are a sinner and that you cannot save yourself. Your sin separates you from God. You cannot know God until your sin is taken away. This is why God sent Christ as the Sacrifice for Sin. He died so your sins could be forgiven and so your relationship with God could finally begin.
For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. ~ Ephesians 2:8
- Realize that your sins were laid on Jesus.
When Christ died on the cross, He took your sins and the sins of the rest of the world upon Himself. ~ 1 Peter 2:24
- Believe that Christ and Christ alone can save you. No other person, religion, deed or doctrine can save you--Only Jesus.
"I am the Way: no one comes to the Father but through Me." ~ John 14:6
- Receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. There are no other conditions, and there is no better time to start your relationship with God than right now. God takes everyone just as he is. You need only to accept His Son Jesus Christ as your Savior and Healer, and as the God and King of your life.
Now What?
- Pray to God; speak to Him out loud or in your heart. Tell God that you want His Son Jesus to be the Lord and Savior of your life. Ask Him to forgive you of your sins, and to give you His gift of eternal life. Thank Him for the gift of His Son who sacrificed His life for you on the cross to take away your sins and to open the door to a relationship with God. Tell Him that in return, you willingly offer Him your life and abilities.
- Make a public declaration of your faith in Jesus. There is nothing like accountability to keep us on the path we have chosen.
- Pray to God daily and ask Him for His guidance and help in all aspects of your life. Visit our Prayers page and our Chapel.
- Read the Bible, God's message to us, and do what it says. Our King James Version is available here. The Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, record Jesus' life and teachings. They are a good place to start reading but anywhere the Spirit leads us to read in Scripture is a very good place to begin.
- Tell others about Jesus, so that they can come to know our Lord and Savior, too!
